Drumroll, please! It’s Meet A Wife Monday! (Note: If you know great wives who want to share their love stories and advice, please pass along my email. Would love to have them stop by. Thanks!)
Now as you know, a lot of things inspire me to want to keep my marriage healthy and happy. One of them is meeting other wives who are making it work every day, and loving it! I knew quite a few before I said “I do”, and since Man Wife and Dog Blog was born I’ve met so many more. They’re all so fabulous I want you to meet them too. This week meet wife and mommy inyeda from This CookN’ Mom and her man!
The Wife: Inyeda, 25
The Hubs: J, 27
But You Can Call Them: The Whites
How She Snagged Him: “Umm, more like how he snagged me?! He stalked me in high school…he was completely intrigued by my smarts and how focused I was. Oh and my tight body. Once we finally met, it was love at first sight!”
Married Since: 11.18.06 (“The actual day we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend!”)
The Kids: Jada 4; Jordan 3, Lil Joy is due in September
Place They Call Home: “Fort Worth Texas suburbs, a cape-code style home.”
How She Pays the Bills: Registered Nurse
How He Pays the Bills: Maintenance. (He is The Man!)
What Makes Her Man Hot: “Hmm…His muscular arms, his after work pheromones…aww sooky sooky now (there’s nothing like the natural smell of a hard-working man), and his big eyes!”
A Wife Highlight: “Marriage is just so darn beautiful. We love lying together in bed until the wee hours of the morning reminiscing about how we fell in love and planning for the future.”
A Wife Gripe: “J uses his socks to clean. I do not know why but it irks me so! I find wet socks all over the house and then they start to get holes in them because of the scrubbing. He even gets mad when I throw them away due to holes. I mean, he knows where the cleaning rags are! Argh…I have to keep buying him new socks!”
Marriage Mantra: “Sacrifice together and your marriage will flourish.”
The 2-Year Plan: “We hope to have our home paid off in the next 2 years so we can move on to something just a little bigger.”
Wifey Wisdom: “Respect each other. This is not a competition. Treat your husband like the king of the world and he will definitely treat you like a precious diamond. Reminisce. Take time together to think about the times when you first fell in love. Do not get caught up in just being parents or making money. Remember you were lovers first. Let your husband be a man. Every family needs a head. Trust your husband’s decisions. Do not doubt his every move. Do not belittle him. Ephesians 5:22”
