My First Blog Award (Blush Alert!)

Share the Love

As a blogger who’s putting in the long nights just for the love of writing it’s always a treat to know someone is actually reading your blog – and an even bigger delight to know they’re a big fan. I just received this awesome Versatile Blogger award from dedicated reader Tiffany over at The Chocolate Knot, one of my favorite wifey blogs. I’m so flattered my cheeks ache! Thanks diva!! (Ladies, be sure to check out her blog ASAP, it’s too fab to handle!)

The Versatile Blogger Award

Okay, so this little honor comes with a few rules for recipient. Done!

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award. — CHECK
2. Answer 10 questions* (see below)
3. Pass it along to seven three blogs you’ve recently discovered and enjoy*.
4. Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award.

The Questions:

1. Why did you create this blog?
I love to write. (I’m a journalist by trade!) I love my husband. And I love our marriage. This blog felt like the way to join all three passions. I also personally believe that chronicling something from the beginning is the perfect way to look back and reflect over time. So when I got engaged I vowed to write about my marriage (ups and downs!) from the very start. And so my blog was born. Now I’m all about keeping a daily record of my thoughts, experiences, and highs and lows involving my marriage. It’s so therapeutic!

2. What kinds of blogs do you follow?
These days mostly marriage, relationship, and home décor blogs. BUT, before I was a wife I was an entertainment and weddings reporter so I still follow quite a few of those blogs too.

3. Favorite make-up brand?
I only wear MAC makeup when I want to look fabulous, but for my everyday look I’m all about the safe-for-face minerals that make Bare Escentuals my go to brand!

4. Favorite clothing brand?
I don’t really think about brands first, just style. BUT, a lot of the items hanging in my walk-in are from The LOFT and The Limited. (I dress my Yorkie Karma in clothes from The Limited too.)

5. Indispensable makeup product?
I will not leave my house without lip gloss and eyeliner either on already, or ready to be applied on the go.

6. Favorite color?
I just love color. But my wedding was filled with pretty purples, so I’m pretty sure that means I’m a big fan.

7. Favorite perfume?
Very Irresistible by Givenchy.

8. Favorite film?
I could never pick just one. Ever! BUT, Brown Sugar, Love Actually, and The Sweetest Thing are definitely in my top 10.

9. What country would you like to visit and why?
Greece. We wanted to go on our honeymoon but we couldn’t find the right price to leave when we needed to. I still have tunnel vision on getting there. I just want to sit on the hillside and marvel in the beauty while wrapped in a blanket and watching the sunset with my husband.

10. Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?
Sorry, my blush is all natural.

So who am I passing on this award to? {Drumroll}

And They Lived Blogging Ever After– I don’t know JeLisa and her husband personally but I wish I did. They seem so in love and like such good people. Her blog is so sweet I make a habit of curling up to it in the evening with some tea. Reading about her love, healthy marriage, and new baby on the way, just makes me feel happy. Can’t beat that!

Black Bridal Bliss — By far the best place to go to for wedding eye candy and her weekly Tie The Knot Tuesday stories are like E True Hollywood Couple Stories. She digs deep and gets to the good stuff. I’m already married and I still go there daily to read what her Road to Mrs. Columnist has to say (I once held this role!) about getting to the altar.

The Unemployed Bride — She’s not unemployed anymore but she’s still blogging regularly with fun, fresh ideas for women and wives. She most recently introduced me to an online book club she and a few other bloggers are starting. I can always count on her blog to read something I haven’t seen before.

AWWWW! Thanks much, Charli. I'm so flattered. (BTW – I'm a lip gloss gal, too.)

  2. Fun! And thanks! Guess I’ve got some question-answering to do. ;)

Hi! Congratulations for the Award! I thought I'd send you a virtual present, which will actually happen in the form of a recommendation to buy your own present :) I hope you don't mind! I think you would appreciate a present involving pearl jewelry, so I would like to send you to so you could do at least a bit of "virtual window-shopping" among all the beautiful pearls. My favorites are the black ones. :) I wish you a lot more future success in your career and marriage!

This is without doubt a site that people need to get behind. The problem is, no one wants to do a huge deal of reading and not have something else to stimulate the mind. This is the internet, after all. Maybe if you added a video or two to emphasise your point. Ill stick around, FOR SURE. But, I dont know if others will.
