A lot of things inspire me to want to keep my marriage healthy and happy. One of them is meeting other wives who are making it work every day, and loving it! I knew quite a few before I said “I do”, and since Man Wife and Dog Blog was born I’ve met so many more. They’re all so fabulous I want you to meet them too. This week, meet wife, mommy-to-be, and blogger Jami from What The Graham!
The Wife: Jami, 25
The Man: Todd, 33 (OLD!)
But You Can Call Them: The Grahams
How She Snagged Him: My amazing 3rd base skills on a co-ed softball team is what I’d like to think, but probably my (then) toned butt and legs. Wait…I like the sound of a toned me thought too, apparently I was just a catch!
Married Since: 7.6.08
The Kids: A baby girl, Tenley, due Oct 26th.
Place They Call Home: A former bachelor pad in good ole Clovis, CA.
How She Pays the Bills: Office Manager for a fundraising organization AND franchise owner in Reno, NV for the same company.
How He Pays the Bills: Territory Manager for a carpet mill. If you have questions we probably have answers!
What Makes Her Man Hot: His selflessness and faith, the way he loves, and watching him be the stud out on the softball field. I get to scream YAY BABE while all the other ladies are saying wow!
A Wife Highlight: Really there isn’t a favorite, spending time together whether it be working on the house, shopping, playing softball, hiking, or traveling are all moments that I cherish and adore.
A Wife Gripe: He was never pushed to try anything in life as a child or teen so I get to do the pushing; like pushing him off a zip line deck even though he’s afraid of heights.
Marriage Mantra: We don’t always have to like each other but we will always WORK on keeping our love for each other, it’s not something that just happens…love and marriage take work but the payout in the end is priceless!
The 2-Year Plan: Oh gosh…we hope to make it out alive with Tenley! We’re both excited and terrified of what’s to come in this new chapter of our lives. I’d love to be able to be a stay at home mom, work on the house and continue to blog, who knows what the future holds but with Todd by my side I know that we can make it through anything!
Wifey Wisdom: Inspired by your, Sex as a bargaining tool: When to hold and when to fold… I would say avoid at all costs. Holding out on something your man needs for the sack of getting something accomplished wouldn’t be viewed fair if the rolls were reversed. Shame goes MUCH further though! If you’ve asked your spouse to do something several times, before it turns into a fight, take care of it yourself (in front of him) or have another male do it if you physically can’t. Knowing that you don’t “need” him and can get by without him will shame him into it quickly and it’ll only take a few times before he does it right when you ask!
