Jasmine from The Mrs The Mommy The MD and Husband

A lot of things inspire me to want to keep my marriage healthy and happy. One of them is meeting other wives who are making it work every day, and loving it! I knew quite a few before I said “I do”, and since Man Wife and Dog Blog was born I’ve met so many more. They’re all so fabulous I want you to meet them too. This week, meet wifey blogger Jasmine from The Mrs. The Mommy. The M.D. !

The Man: Nathan, 26

But You Can Call Them: The Johnsons

How She Snagged Him: “We met at a gathering in college (Go Blue!) Spring 2007. I was a baby Delta and he was a baby Kappa, it was a romance in true Crimson and Kreme fashion.”

Married Since: 4.16.10

The Pet: “No pets, the hubby has allergies.”

The Kid: Nathan II, 2

Jasmine Meet A Wife Monday WIth FamilyPlace They Call Home: “Currently renting a cozy three bedroom house in Indianapolis, Indiana.”

How She Pays the Bills: “Ballin’ student loans (JK) – finishing up my first year of medical school.”

How He Pays the Bills: “He’s a mechanical engineer for a pneumatics company.”

What Makes Her Man Hot: “He’s so romantic and thoughtful. He’s extremely handy and can do/build/repair just about anything he Googles for only a few minutes. He’s an awesome dad.”

A Wife Highlight: “It’s such a great feeling to know that he is always in my corner, and I love talking about him to people and saying ‘My husband'”.

A Wife Gripe: “He ALWAYS asks me where things are BEFORE he looks for them himself. It’s like that joke women tell about men never looking for anything, but real life…LOL!”

Marriage Mantra: “Your marriage should be a reflection of Christ’s love for the church. If seeing you with your spouse gives someone a reason not to get married, then you are probably doing something wrong.”

The 2-Year Plan: “I will be in school until 2014, but hopefully we’ll either have another baby by then or he/she will be on the way.”

Wifey Wisdom: “Everyone will have advice on how they feel things should be done (splitting holidays, raising kids, husband/wife roles, etc.), but you two have to follow your hearts and stick together in your decisions.”

What a beautiful family! I too am in a similar situation as Jasmine and Married in Chicago. I just had a baby while in school for my doctorate. I love ready about people who are going through the same thing my husband and I do. It is truly inspiring–especially on days when I feel like it is too much!

Great post! Pleasure to meet another wife making it work and enjoying marriage. I love, love, love this line: "If seeing you with your spouse gives someone a reason not to get married, then you are probably doing something wrong.” So very true! Marriage is meant to be celebrated, not viewed as a prison sentence.

"Meet a wife Monday" what a great idea. I'm so proud of you young wives and mothers being committed to your husbands and children. I have been married for 26 years, made it through my husband last yr of undergrad, 4 yrs of med school., and 6 yrs of residency. We were blessed with 4 wonderful children and I can't thank God enough for keeping me, showing me what real faith is and being the constant in my life. So be encouraged it is not often that you hear about young women who are willing to put in the work and time that it takes to have a successful marraige. Just remember with God all things are possible.

  11. Alicia says:

What an attractive couple! Those are such amazing words of wisdom and coming from a "young mommy and wife"… you make me proud, Jasmine! Keep going strong. I love that you said that marriage should be a reflection of how Christ loves the church. I've seen a few marriages that made me say things like, "if that's what it is, then I don't want it." LOL. But it doesn't have to be that way. You. Go. Girl.

This is too sweet. I agree with her about not listening to others for advice you have to remain true to your relationship and do what the two of you believe is right. What a gorgeous 20 Something family! :)

Extraordinary post! Joy to meet another spouse making it work and getting a charge out of marriage. I adore, love, love this line: "If seeing you with your life partner gives somebody a reason not to get hitched, at that point you are most likely accomplishing something incorrectly." So extremely evident! Marriage is intended to be commended, not saw as a jail sentence. https://www.expertessaywriters.co.uk/business-man
