I knew marriage would be about sacrifice, but last I checked The Dog’s name isn’t on our marriage license. You see, I bought this fabulous faux fur throw by Cynthia Rowley for a steal at Marshall’s during the holiday shopping season. (Okay so I bought a little something for me while I was out – is that a crime? Moving on…) When I touched it I knew I just had to have it. It has a plush faux fur rug-feel on the front and inside it’s lined with super-soft microfiber. Plus I’m a sucker for bold colors and it came in everyone you could imagine. I picked this bright green, brought it home and immediately inserted it into my nightly wind-down routine. I’m always cold, and it is absolutely perfectly sized for solo snuggling and really holds in the warmth. So needless to say, I’ve been obsessed with this blanket ever since. The problem is, The Dog has been too!
Her scheme to steal my new best friend began with her sneaking underneath a small corner of it with me every time I grabbed it and got comfy on the couch, then continued with her sprawling across it every time I got up to grab something from the kitchen, and ended with her dragging it to the floor and burying herself in it. (Which is exactly how I found her this morning.) I didn’t think The Man would believe that she’d hijacked my blanket so I snapped these photographs as evidence. First she took my spot in bed, now my favorite throw? The score is now Dog:1, Wife: 0. So, if your dog likes grass as much as mine does, you may want to run on down to the nearest Marshall’s and buy them one before they’re all sold out.
